Vision Statement

The vision of Macon County High School is to provide all students with the knowledge and skills necessary in the life they choose.

 

Mission Statement

It is the mission of the Macon County High School faculty and administration to create a safe and wholesome environment in which learning is expected and encouraged, knowledge is communicated, academic and social skills are enhanced and developed, and the integrity of learning time is protected.

 

Beliefs Statement

The faculty and administration of Macon County High School believe that the functions of the school are:

To encourage academic, personal growth and health of the individual student:

To encourage the expansion of ideas and expression through the development of higher order and critical thinking skills:

To use testing to serve multiple purposes, including the adjustment of teaching strategies, the improvement of test scores and grades, while making learning relevant:

To encourage constructive parental involvement as to foster communication, provide knowledge of the school, and to solicit and assistance for the school which is deemed appropriate.

Philosophy Statement

The School should uphold the worth and dignity of the individual.

The state-mandated curriculum is merely  the minimum framework for educational activities. 

The development of higher order and critical thinking skills is essential part of the academic experience.

Macon County High School is dedicated in its efforts to provide academic, physical, and social growth for its students. 

Activities within the school should be goal-oriented and developed with input from students, parents, teachers, and administrators.

The school should provide a healthy environment that is conducive to learning.

Activities must be provided to encourage students to assume responsibility and leadership.

Macon County High School exists in a mutually beneficial relationship with the community.
